Starting in December of 2014, I worked at the Cayuga Radio Group in Ithaca, New York, first as a reporter and anchor for the news department. My main duties included running out to the scene of breaking news, taking photos, doing interviews, maintaining the station website, and serving as an alternative host for daily newscasts and the morning and evening news shows on News Talk WHCU.
As of May 2015, I was promoted to full-time host of the Evening Newswatch, as well as senior reporter, with other duties including recording daily newscasts. In April of 2016, the Evening Newswatch under my leadership won the New York State Broadcasters Association Award for Best Local Newscast.
In December of 2016, I was again promoted to News Director, and gained additional duties including supervising the entire WHCU news team, deciding on coverage choices, and managing branding for WHCU, along with news for all nine stations of the Cayuga Radio Group. I also maintained the responsibilities of doing some newscasts, reporting, writing, and co-anchoring the flagship program, the Morning Newswatch.
